The Manager of Post Automation will lead a team of engineers and developers to help grow and support NBCU's Post-Production automation platform. The ideal candidate will oversee the development, code management, and data reporting for the tools. In addition, the ideal candidate will work closely with the Post Workflow team to ensure client requests are accurately captured, properly prioritized and built to specifications.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of developers and engineers in these areas
Code management (including but not limited to CI/CD)
Development QA/QC
Data management and reporting
Application development
Manage assignments for the team, based on timelines and the skills of the development team
Assign proper deadlines for each assignment
Set accurate expectations for senior management on delivery timelines
Engage with third party vendors as needed, specifically regarding integration via automation
Oversee L3 support for the automation platform
Oversee L3 support for the internal Media Asset Management (MAM) platform
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a related field
4+ years of managerial experience as a Manager or Technical Lead
Experience with understanding third-party and internal REST APIs
Experience in scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell
Experience in Linux, Windows, Node, React, Python, and Ansible
Experience in Development QA/QC Processes
Background with some form of source control management (SCM), preferably git
Experience in third-party post-production automation tools, such as Telestream Vantage
Understanding of video archive solutions, such as Telestream Diva
Familiarity with the software build process
Experience with asset management systems (Production Asset Management and Media Asset Management)
Experience working in agile/scrum environment
Willingness to work weekends or off hour to handle regular upgrades and technical escalations.
