MKS2 is seeking an early- to mid-career Capture Manager to help lead and execute capture efforts for Federal Government consulting opportunities. This role is ideal for a collaborative, agile professional who thrives as part of a lean, highly experienced team in a fast-moving environment. We need someone who can quickly build strong internal and external partnerships; and help shape winning strategies from early opportunity identification through proposal delivery. Although this role is remote, the Capture Manager must be located in the National Capital Region (NCR) and must be able to attend frequent meetings and events in the NCR during standard business hours, as well as occasional early or late engagements corresponding to customer or partner schedules.

 

Salary: $135,000-$165,000

Location: Fully Remote 

 

Responsibilities

  • · Own capture execution for assigned opportunities, collaborating with stakeholders from qualification through award
  • · Support relationship-building with government stakeholders, industry partners, and internal executives
  • · Track customer priorities, budgets, acquisition approaches, and procurement timelines
  • · Attend relevant NCR-based events (industry days, forums, conferences, partner sessions) to gather insights and expand networks
  • · Develop and maintain capture artifacts (capture plans, competitor analysis, customer intel, gate review materials)
  • · Partner with growth leadership to define win strategy, discriminators, and positioning aligned to customer mission outcomes
  • · Support opportunity shaping: identify customer pain points, refine solution concepts, and recommend competitive strategies
  • · Translate customer insights into actionable capture plans, including timelines, milestones, and decision points
  • · Develop and execute teaming strategies to increase PWin as a prime and to secure subcontractor positions on a high PWin team

Qualifications

  • · 3–8 years of experience in capture, proposals, or related roles supporting business development
  • · Demonstrated ability to work as part of a lean and highly efficient team and to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
  • · Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline
  • · Strong written and verbal communication skills; capable of producing clear capture documentation and executive-ready briefings
  • · Familiarity with the Federal acquisition environment (e.g., RFIs, RFPs, IDIQs, task orders, GSA schedules)
  • · Experience supporting capture in one or more agencies (e.g., DoD, Civilian, Intel, DHS, VA)
  • · Working knowledge of pricing basics and competitive positioning
  • · Experience developing and executing teaming strategy to increase PWin
  • · Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce or Dynamics), federal market research platforms (e.g., GovWin, SAM.gov, GSA eBuy), and Microsoft collaboration tools (including Teams and Copilot)
