The Role

As a Director of Finance, you’ll be the keeper of Empatica’s financial structure, ensuring sound accounting, transparent reporting, and scalable financial systems. You’ll lead the design and execution of best-in-class processes across our global footprint, shaping the backbone of a fast-growing, international health tech company.

You’ll oversee all accounting and finance operations, ensuring compliance with multiple frameworks (such as US, Italian and international GAAP), while enabling the business to scale efficiently and confidently.

You’ll manage an international and highly skilled Finance team, fostering collaboration, growth, and excellence within a dynamic and diverse environment. As a pivotal figure within the organization, you’ll act as a key point of reference for multiple managers and teams across departments, ensuring financial alignment and strategic support throughout the group.

You will be responsible for identifying areas of improvement but also taking the initiative to establish and implement those changes.

We need somebody exceptionally skilled to manage our complex structure, which spans across 2 continents following the recent acquisition of PKG Health.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or CPA is a plus).
• 5+ years of experience in Corporate Finance, Accounting, or Big 4 auditing.
• Deep understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices across multiple frameworks (such as US GAAP, Italian and international GAAP) for both products and services.
• Proven experience managing audits, tax filings, and international tax structures.
• Solid grasp of equity compensation (company valuation, stock options).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Superb organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven people management skills.
• Tech-savvy — experienced in modern financial tools and ERP systems.
• Excellent written and spoken English; other languages are a plus.
• Work cross-functionally with internal teams, including marketing, sales, product, engineering, HR, and more.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with external professionals, such as auditors and insurance providers/brokers.
• Collaborative, proactive, and passionate about scaling a global, mission-driven company.

Some important details:

• Empatica operates in an international environment with presence in Europe, the US, and Korea. All work is conducted in English.
• We are operating a hybrid model where our employees choose whether to work from home or come to the office, however, please note that this position is not fully remote and in-person presence at the office is necessary.
