Job description


We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our legal team in a remote capacity. This role is based in California and offers the flexibility of working from home while handling workers' compensation defense cases with billable hours around 40 hours a week. This firm offers collaborative billing so the attorney does not need to solely bill 40 hours a week to meet bonus objectives it's the total between the attorney, legal assistant and paralegal on the caseload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of workers' compensation defense cases from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborate with clients, witnesses, and medical professionals to develop case strategies.
  • Provide expert legal advice to clients regarding workers' compensation claims and defense strategies.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in California.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
