Job description

At Warner Music Group, we’re a global collective of music makers and music lovers, tech innovators and inspired entrepreneurs, game-changing creatives and passionate team members. Here, we turn dreams into stardom and audiences into fans. We are guided by three core values that underpin everything we do across all our diverse businesses:

Curiosity: We do our best work when we’re immersing ourselves in culture and breaking through barriers. Curiosity is the driving force behind creativity and ingenuity. It fuels innovation, and innovation is the key to our future.

Collaboration: Making music and bringing it to the world is all about the power of originality amplified by teamwork. A great idea, like a great song, travels globally. We ignite passions and build connections across our diverse community of artists, songwriters, partners, and fans.

Commitment: We pursue excellence for our team and our talent. Everything in music starts with a leap into the unknown, and we’re committed to keeping the faith, acting with integrity, and delivering on our promises.

Technology is one of the most important parts of our business. Whether it’s supporting our songwriters, ensuring we provide the right royalty data to global partners, or helping our creative teams use the latest AI tools to discover new talent—technology plays an invaluable role in our success. Product Managers help turn vision into reality.

WMG is home to a wide range of artists, musicians, and songwriters that fuel our success. That is why we are committed to creating a work environment that actively values, appreciates, and respects everyone. We encourage applications from people with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.

Consider a career at WMG and get the best of both worlds – an innovative global music company that retains the creative spirit of a nimble independent.

We are looking for a Product Manager, Music Performance Data & Reporting. Data is the lifeblood of the music industry, but the data landscape across the industry is fragmented and complex. We’re looking for a data-fluent Product Manager to own data on artist performance – for example, data on streaming, listeners, and social performance on digital platforms. You will own the full lifecycle of performance data, from the integrity of our backend pipelines to the way that data is visualized and integrated into our flagship end-user products like WMG Pulse. You will be the bridge between complex data engineering and the actionable insights that power our Marketing, A&R, and Business Intelligence teams. Ultimately, you’ll help ensure that better data platforms can unlock the next generation of AI-driven analytics and world-class artist insights.

What you’ll do
  • End-to-End Data Product Management: Define and manage the roadmap for our core performance data tables. You will treat data as a product, ensuring that our internal datasets are documented, reliable, and standardized for consumption across the enterprise.

  • Surface Integration & Product Trio Collaboration: Partner within a "Product Trio" (Engineering, Design, and Product) to integrate performance data into internal reporting tools and customer-facing surfaces. You will ensure a seamless transition from raw backend data to intuitive user interfaces while navigating complex technical trade-offs.

  • Insights Standardization: Lead the effort to harmonize data sources across the company. You will eliminate fragmented interpretations of performance metrics, ensuring a single "source of truth" for how we measure success across different platforms and territories.

  • Cross-Functional Evangelism: Interface across the entire business—including teams like Marketing, A&R, and Business Intelligence—to understand their reporting needs and translate them into technical requirements for our Data Engineering and Data Science teams.

  • Enable AI & Advanced Analytics: Build the foundational data layer that will allow WMG to leverage predictive analytics and machine learning, moving from retrospective reporting to forward-looking insights.

Who you are
  • Experienced: You have at least 5 years of product management experience, including some experience with data platforms, data engineering, business intelligence, and/or reporting platforms.

  • Data-Savvy: You are comfortable navigating complex data schemas and understand the principles of data modeling and pipeline architecture.

  • Systems Thinker: You enjoy mapping out complex dependencies and can visualize how a change in one system—or data source—will cascade through the rest of the ecosystem.

  • A Master Storyteller: You own the "Why". You can take a complex data discrepancy and explain it simply to a marketer, while also being able to dive deep into technical requirements with an engineer.

  • Biased to Action: You have a proven ability to unstick a team and make difficult prioritization decisions (e.g. between "fixing the plumbing" of underlying data and delivering new high-visibility reporting features.)

  • Humble Leader: You have strong opinions, held weakly; you are quick to share credit with your team and accept responsibility when things don’t go as planned.

  • Mission-Driven: You are a music fan motivated by the fact that your work directly impacts an artist’s ability to grow their career and get paid.
