  • Provide first-tier client support, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and training clients on the UKG Ready platform.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll tax laws and regulations and implement necessary updates to ensure compliance; generate accurate and timely payroll reports (tax filings, W-2s, and other documentation).

Overview
World Payroll and HR (WPHR), a leading provider of payroll and HR outsourcing services, is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team. We utilize the UKG Ready platform to deliver comprehensive payroll solutions to our clients, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

Job Summary
As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will play a critical role in processing payroll for multiple clients, ensuring timely and accurate payments. You will be responsible for managing complex payroll tasks, resolving client inquiries, and staying up-to-date with evolving tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing: Process multi-state payroll for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. Process manual calculations for special payroll or benefit requirements.
  • System Administration: Maintain and update employee records in UKG Ready, including personal information, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions.
  • Client Support: Provide first-tier support to clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and training them on the use of the UKG Ready platform. Communicate effectively with clients to address questions and concerns.
  • Compliance: Stay informed about changes in payroll tax laws and regulations and implement necessary updates to ensure compliance.
  • Reporting: Generate accurate and timely payroll reports, including tax filings, W-2s, and other required documentation.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, reduce errors, and enhance efficiency.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Client Services and team members to ensure smooth operations and knowledge sharing.
  • Mentor and train junior payroll staff, providing guidance on complex payroll scenarios and best practices.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with other departments (Tax, Accounting, and HR)
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities, TBD by Director of Client Services.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience with UKG Ready, with a strong understanding of payroll processing, tax laws, and HR best practices.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and other relevant payroll software.
  • Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex payroll issues.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with clients, team members, and management.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all aspects of payroll processing.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities, deadlines, and system updates.
  • Certifications: FPC or CPP certification preferred.
