Mid–Senior QA Engineer at Vigil

SUMMARY:

We are looking for a QA Engineer to join a collaborative, cross-functional engineering team delivering high-quality, scalable systems.

In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring quality across the full software development lifecycle, with a strong focus on exploratory testing, system-level validation, and non-functional aspects such as performance and reliability.

You will work closely with engineers and product teams to embed a quality-first mindset, improve testing practices, and help evolve QA standards.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

• Lead exploratory and end-to-end testing across complex systems and user workflows
• Ensure acceptance criteria are clear, complete, and testable
• Identify risks and define robust testing strategies, including non-functional testing (performance, scalability, reliability)
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to align on quality goals
• Participate in planning, design sessions, and three amigos meetings
• Analyse quality metrics and use insights to improve QA processes
• Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements
• Contribute to test coverage across manual and automated testing
• Support testing of APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-based environments
• Help evolve QA standards, tools, and best practices across the team

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Minimum 4 years of QA experience in diverse software development projects
• Manual testing expertise across Web and Mobile.
• Proven experience in Software Quality Assurance, with a focus on exploratory and system-level testing
• Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
• Experience testing APIs and complex or distributed systems
• Exposure to cloud environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams
• An analytical mindset with the ability to use data and metrics to drive decisions
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal

AWESOME BUT NOT REQUIRED:

• Experience with test automation frameworks and practices
• Knowledge of performance testing and monitoring tools
• Exposure to AI / ML systems testing
• Familiarity with data quality or data validation tools
• Awareness of security and compliance testing
• Experience working in cloud-native environments
