Gregory Construction, an industry-recognized and award-winning provider of construction services, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in Columbus, MS. Our work focuses on mission critical facilities (such as data centers), civil infrastructure, and underground utility projects, with a proven track record of delivering complex, high-quality construction solutions for universities, municipalities, the Department of Transportation, and industrial partners.

As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates that drive project success. This position is ideal for a professional with significant estimating experience in heavy civil, mission critical, or utility construction who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete quantity take-offs, analysis, and estimates for assigned scopes of work.

• Develop detailed estimates for trades, building systems, and overall project costs.

• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor proposals, ensuring scope coverage and minimizing risk.

• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to align estimates with project execution.

• Supervise and mentor Assistant Estimators, Estimating Assistants, and/or Interns as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in construction (heavy civil, mission critical, or utility work strongly preferred).

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field; or equivalent education/training.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and standard estimating software.

• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze contract documents, drawings, specifications, and schedules.

• Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

• Some travel required.
