Join the CrowdGen team as an Independent Contractor and take part in our project, a short voice reading challenge designed to help improve speech recognition technology.
In this activity, participants will read short phrases displayed on the screen while recording their voice using the Appen Mobile App.
It’s a simple, guided activity that can be completed using just your smartphone.
Most participants complete the challenge in about 30-40 minutes.
**We have completed our adult participant collection and are now warmly inviting teens aged 16–18 to take part. We are committed to gathering diverse and inclusive data, giving everyone an equal opportunity to contribute. Full details will be shared during the application process.**

What You’ll Do
For this challenge, you will:
• Guide a child or family member as they record 20 wake words and 1 unique sentence
• Help them read each phrase using different speaking styles such as slow, fast, loud, and soft
• Ensure recordings are done in a quiet environment using the Appen Mobile App
Requirements
• Must currently reside in Switzerland
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone) with a working microphone
• Quiet environment with minimal background noise
• Stable internet connection for uploading recordings
• Ability to follow recording instructions carefully
Payment Details
• Earn $33.43 for completing the full task
• Payment will be issued once at least 95% of recordings pass the quality review
• The pay rate reflects the total reward for completing all required recordings
