Connect for Health has a great opportunity for a Product Director.


Connect for Health Colorado is a public, non-profit entity established by the Colorado General Assembly in 2011 to create a health insurance Marketplace. Since 2013, we’ve been helping individuals, families, and small employers compare plans, apply for financial help, and buy health insurance. As Colorado’s official health insurance marketplace, we are the only place to apply for financial help to lower the monthly cost of premiums. Customers can shop online; get help by phone or online chat from Customer Service Center representatives; and access expert help from a statewide network of certified Brokers and community-based Assisters. Position Summary: 


The Product Director is accountable for driving quality product thinking, discovery, and decision making, ensuring Connect for Health Colorado’s eligibility, enrollment, and support products evolve to meet the changing needs of the organization. 


This role is responsible for owning the product portfolio, setting clear expectations for problem framing and tradeoff thinking, and developing strong product leaders who can operate with curiosity, critical thinking, and accountability.


Position Responsibilities:


Product Leadership and Strategy 

  • Own and evolve the product portfolio in alignment with organizational strategy and mission, balancing regulatory constraints with user-centered product strategy.
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear problem spaces and outcomes for product teams.
  • Ensure product initiatives are grounded in customer, stakeholder, and market insight.
  • Monitor market dynamics, competitor offerings, and policy shifts to ensure product positioning remains relevant and differentiated.
  • Accountable for defining and measuring product outcomes tied to enrollment, retention, operational efficiency, and customer trust.
  • Promote experimentation, learning, and iteration. 

Team Leadership and Development 

  • Invest in and support product team members.
  • Focus on enhancing product management practices and creating opportunities for all team members to grow and learn.
  • Advocate for and challenge product teams, resulting in a transparent, trusting culture.
  • Coach product team members to operate with autonomy and curiosity.

Cross-functional Partnership

  • Work closely with Engineering, UX, and Product Operations leadership to ensure strong collaboration across discovery and delivery.
  • Ensure technical, design, and operational constraints are surfaced early and transparently.
  • Partner with key stakeholders and business partners to identify areas of opportunity and improvements to the consumer experience.  
Requirements
  • Colorado resident 
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in an IT, computer science, or related field, or equivalent years of experience and/or Product Management certification.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of product management experience required.
  • Prior management/leadership experience required.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with experience creating a culture of innovation, creativity, and transparency.
  • Strong systems thinker with the ability to balance strategy, discovery, and delivery.
  • Ability to work within a very fast-paced, quickly evolving organization, manage multiple, complex priorities, and respond effectively to change.
  • Experience partnering with and influencing executives, stakeholders, and business partners at all levels of an organization. 

Work Environment:

  • Currently working remotely.
  • The Connect for Health Colorado office is located in the North Tech Center area of Denver, near the intersection of I-25 and I-225. 
  • Work schedule may include some non-traditional hours, weekends, and evening events.
  • Core office hours are typically 8 am-5 pm with some flexibility.

Connect for Health Colorado offers a competitive benefits package.  Employees are offered a robust benefits package and may elect from various offerings to tailor a package best suited to their individual needs. Connect for Health Colorado employees are eligible to participate in the organization’s 403(b) plan and are additionally provided with paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance.  The salary range for this position is $135,960 - $171,083 per year.
