  • Oversee daily operations including picking/packing, replenishment, and staging to meet production and customer schedules; track on-time shipping, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, and other KPIs

Summary Objective

The Distribution Supervisor leads day-to-day warehouse and distribution operations in a manufacturing environment, ensuring safe, accurate, and on-time movement of finished goods, components, and materials. This role supervises a team of associates to meet service, quality, and cost objectives; drives continuous improvement using lean methodologies; and partners closely with Production, Planning, Quality, and Transportation to support reliable customer fulfillment and seamless plant material flow.

  

Essential Functions

  • Team Leadership: Direct, coach, and develop warehouse associates and equipment operators; conduct daily huddles, assign labor, and manage attendance and performance. 
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA and company safety standards, conduct audits and incident investigations, ensure proper PPE usage, and maintain 5S/GMP standards. 
  • Inventory Control: Maintain high inventory accuracy via cycle counts, location audits, variance root-cause, and corrective actions; enforce FIFO/FEFO where applicable. 
  • KPI Management: Track and improve on-time shipping, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, dock-to-stock, damage rate, and labor productivity; communicate results and action plans. 
  • Systems & Documentation: Execute transactions in WMS/ERP, ensure proper scanning, labeling, and documentation (BOLs, packing lists, ASN/EDI where applicable).
  • Equipment Oversight: Ensure safe and proper use of forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, and RF devices; coordinate PMs and repairs; verify daily inspections/checklists. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead kaizen/5S events, standardize work instructions/SOPs, remove bottlenecks, reduce waste, and optimize layout and material flow. 
  • People Processes: Participate in hiring, onboarding, training/cross-training, performance reviews, and corrective actions aligned to company policy. 
  • Budget & Cost Control: Manage labor and consumables to plan; support productivity, damage reduction, and freight-cost initiatives.
  • Daily Operations: Oversee picking/packing, replenishment, and staging to meet production and customer schedules.

Competencies

  • Understands BOM structure, alternates/substitutes, effectivity dates, and controlled part changes. 
  • Systems fluency: WMS/ERP, RF scanning, work order management, backflush/issue/return transactions. 
  • Inventory control discipline: cycle count methods, root cause analysis (transaction errors, mis‑locations, unit of measure issues). 
  • Experience with WMS and ERP systems for order execution and inventory control.

Work Location

This position will work out of our Fort Worth, TX facility.  This position is not approved for telecommuting or working remotely. Or where the employee will physically work.

 

Work Environment
Most work is performed in a warehouse setting. Regular trips to SEA Fabrication Shop for observation and research are required. 

 

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.   

 

Travel
Anticipated up to 15% travel for this position. Some occasional local day travel may also be necessary. Occasional travel to customer job sites and conferences may be required.

 

Required Education and Experience.

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) with a minimum of five years of experience. 
  • 3-5 years in a leadership role. 

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Certificate in Distribution Management and Logistics.
  • Three plus years managing inventory in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Experience with inventory management tools.
