Job description

đź‘‹About Boundless Life

Boundless Life empowers remote workers to experience — with their families — the nomad lifestyle many people without children have been enjoying for years. It creates a complete “live abroad” immersive experience for families looking to get the most of what the digital age and the world can offer.

Through family-friendly lodging and a cutting-edge education system that follows the children wherever they go, Boundless brings together a community of like-minded families who want to explore the planet while working remotely and having a positive impact on their lives and the world.

Since we were founded in 2021, we have quickly grown to 7 locations across three continents and more than 180 team members of different nationalities. We’re continuing to grow at a fast pace. This year alone we’re opening 2 new locations, and have ambitious goals to empower people to have more fulfilling lives by designing a lifestyle enabling balance, growth and deeper connections with ourselves, our families, nature and the world.

🙌The role

As Boundless moves from design and pilot phases into full implementation and scale, the Middle Years Program Specialist plays a critical role in shaping the learning experience and pedagogical integrity of the Trailblazer (Middle Years) program. Working in close partnership with the Middle Years Operations Specialist to ensure operational feasibility and scale, this role focuses on curriculum design and refinement, supports educator hiring and coaching, and intentionally builds a strong Middle Years culture grounded in adolescent development, project-based learning, and the Boundless Education model.

Key Responsibilities

Program Design & Implementation

  • Lead the strategic rebrand and end-to-end relaunch of the Trailblazer program for the 2026-2027 academic cycle, ensuring all pedagogical and operational touchpoints align with the new brand identity.
  • Collaborate with the Middle Years Operations Specialist and Program and Learning Design team to co-design Boundless Education signature learning experiences: place-based learning projects (Quests) and Boundless Time (personal passion projects), packaging these learning units as blueprints grounded in design thinking principles.
  • Own the end-to-end design of Quest signature projects across all Trailblazer destinations, ensuring they are high-impact, experiential, grounded in place-based learning, and serve as the premier showcase of the Trailblazer journey.
  • Design and embed instructional modules
focusing on Financial Literacy (budgeting, investing, global economics) and Public Speaking (pitching, storytelling, debate).
  • Explicitly map out and integrate Executive Function coaching (time management, task initiation, and emotional regulation) blueprints to support adolescent brain development.
  • Oversee the integration and refinement of interdisciplinary curriculum elements—such as the Spanish language program—in close partnership with subject specialists.
  • Architect holistic learning journeys that seamlessly integrate service learning, community-building, and leadership development alongside core academic objectives for every global destination.
  • Ensure all curriculum materials and project blueprints are clearly documented, regularly updated, and uploaded to the LMS (Toddle) for educator access.
  • Review educators' lesson plans on Toddle, providing feedback and ensuring that bi-weekly competency-based assessments are completed regularly to provide sufficient student data throughout the cohort.
  • Oversee data integration and narrative reporting systems to provide families with a comprehensive, qualitative, and quantitative view of student growth and competency mastery.
  • Maintain frequent weekly communication with the Head of Program and Learning Design to ensure alignment, share insights, and coordinate on priorities across programs.
  • Foster meaningful integration between academic subjects and project-based learning (PBL) by helping educators design interdisciplinary learning pathways that deepen understanding and bring learning to life.
  • Collaborate with Middle Years Operations Specialist and Head of Education Expansion & Accreditation to ensure WASC documentation for the Trailblaze program is completed on time and to a high standard.

Academic Studios Framework

  • Design and implement a framework for Middle Years Academic Studio (our two-hour
online learning component in partnership with an external partner) that empowers educators to guide students in setting goals, managing time, and taking ownership of their learning.
  • Provide tools and strategies to inspire, motivate, track progress, and ensure timely caring communication with families if students fall behind.
  • Support integration of academic subjects into PBL where meaningful interdisciplinary connections emerge.
  • Create the roadmap for "Student-Led Success," where Trailblazers move from guided learners to autonomous owners of their academic goals and schedules.

Post-Launch & Quality Assurance

  • Eventually, conduct quarterly site visits to observe classrooms, provide coaching, and support Education Center Directors in maintaining instructional quality and engagement.
  • Collect structured feedback from families, students, and educators to identify successful initiatives, improvement areas, and implement refinements.
  • Provide written reports and follow-up action plans after each visit.

Instructional Coaching

  • Provide hands-on onboarding support for educators, including clear walkthroughs of planning expectations, classroom structures, student engagement strategies, and Boundless pedagogy. This support is delivered both during Interim Weeks and continuously throughout the cohort as needed.
  • Model and coach Trailblazer educators on best practices in differentiated instruction, project-based learning and Boundless classroom culture with specific relationship-building strategies for pre-teens and teens.
  • Provide targeted coaching to local teams to support developmentally appropriate Trailblazer with their social-emotional learning needs, contributing to a strong Middle Years culture grounded in adolescent development.

Hiring

  • Collaborate with the Head of Program & Learning Design on staffing needs and job descriptions for Middle Years (Trailblazer) educators.
  • Partner with the People and Program and Learning Design teams to conduct panel interviews for Trailblazer Lead educators and Support educators.
  • Support new hires through onboarding and integration into the Boundless Education model.
