Roles & Responsibilities

  • 7 to 10 years of experience with SAFe practices and/or as an Agile Release Train (ART) coach or SAFe consultant
  • SAFe Practice Consultant certification (or equivalent) with hands-on ART coaching experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience leading Lean-Agile transformations and coaching at-scale in complex environments

Requirements:

  • Establish and facilitate all ART events and forums, including ART Leadership collaboration forums
  • Serve as a servant leader and coach for the ART, supporting Agile Teams and helping them achieve high performance
  • Collaborate with Product Management, System Architect, and Business Owners to achieve effective ART outcomes and drive Lean-Agile transformation
  • Compile ART data and performance artifacts and adapt tools (e.g., Rally, MIRO, MS Teams, PointingPoker) to plan, execute, monitor, and continuously improve the ART

The Release Train Engineer’s (RTE) purpose is to create the highest performing Release Train possible. To accomplish this, the RTE serves as a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART). They ensure the smooth operation of ART events and practices and assist Agile Teams in their success. The RTE facilitates communication with stakeholders, problem-solving, and risk management. The RTE also manages impediments and fosters continuous improvement. They are integral to the ART leadership, collaborating with Product Management, the System Architect, and Business Owners to achieve effective outcomes on the ART. Beyond the ART, RTEs aid in the broader Lean-Agile transformation by coaching leaders and teams across the organization.
