Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintains monthly lease amortization schedules and related journal entries, and reconciles lease liability and right-of-use asset balances under IFRS 16
  • Prepares and posts manual journal entries and assists with month-end and year-end close, including monthly general ledger reconciliations
  • Supports internal and external audits, prepares financial reports and analyses as requested, and participates in internal control improvements

Job description

Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for key accounting functions that support accurate financial reporting and operational efficiency. This role will manage fixed asset accounting, lease accounting and related amortization schedules, prepare and post manual journal entries, perform general ledger account reconciliations, and assist with ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains and updates the fixed asset ledgers using Sage FAS software, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation. Prepares and monitors monthly depreciation expense and reconcile fixed asset accounts. Ensures accurate capitalization in accordance with company policy and IFRS, while tracking project numbers and fixed assets work in process.

  • Supports annual fixed asset audits and physical inventory counts.

  • Maintains monthly lease amortization schedules and related journal entries in compliance with IFRS 16.  Reconciles lease liability and right-of-use asset balances.

  • Prepares and posts manual journal entries with appropriate documentation.

  • Assists with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.

  • Performs monthly GL account reconciliations for assigned accounts.  Researches and resolves reconciling items promptly. Analyzes variances and provide explanations as needed.

  • Ensures compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies.

  • Prepares financial reports, schedules, and analysis as requested by management.

  • Supports internal and external audit requests.

  • Participates in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Demonstrates and actively promotes an understanding and commitment to the mission of Logicalis through performing behaviors consistent with the organization's values.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Logicalis in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behaviors.

Education/Experience/Technical Requirements/Certifications                                   

Equivalent combination accepted.

   Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.

   Experience: 

  • 3-5 years’ experience with strong accounting skills demonstrated through experience in account reconciliation.

  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics or equivalent accounting software.

  • Experience with Sage FAS (Fixed Asset Software)

  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel.

Salary Compensation Range: $50,500-$63,000
