VOA is seeking an Intern to support the Strategy & Innovation Team. The person in this role should have an interest or experience in community health, innovation and stakeholder engagement.

This position is full-time (up to 40 hours per week) 

 This position extends the opportunity for a fully Remote work schedule

The internship is unpaid, however, a stipend is provided

Primary Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will report to both the Executive Vice President - Chief Strategy & Innovation Officer and Vice President - Innovation & Impact Investing with primary duties to... 

  • Support the VOA\Humana Foundation relationship by collecting impact stories from the field and developing into compelling communication deliverables
  • Assist with the stakeholder engagement and project management of research project: ‘Integrated Health Technology for Older Adults Aging in Place’
  • Research and design for new business proposals and presentations
  • (Virtually) Attend all Team and client meetings, as needed
  • Engage with appropriate staff at VOA National and local VOA Affiliates to collect materials
  • Contribute creatively to proposals and presentations. This requires strong writing skills and some practice at compelling graphical layout in programs like PowerPoint
  • Support project management functions like scheduling meetings, compiling deliverables and following up with stakeholders
  • Professional communications with internal and external company leadership
  • Online, industry research to identify prospects, best practices and peer comparisons

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with basic data research, analysis and corresponding communications (i.e. charts, infographics, etc.)
  • Demonstrated examples of compelling reports and presentations
  • Project management and group leadership
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Qualifications:

Physical Capabilities:

  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods
