Roles & Responsibilities

  • Essential knowledge of CO2 refrigeration systems
  • Glycol or chiller system experience desirable but not essential
  • Experience in refrigeration design, sizing and documentation (heat load calculations, equipment selection)
  • Proven ability to produce technical drawings and support project handovers

Requirements:

  • Design and propose light industrial and commercial refrigeration systems, detailing costs and designs to customers and ensuring compliance with legislative and customer requirements
  • Create designs from initial briefs/drawings, adhering to company and industry standards; produce detailed design deliverables such as cold room heat load calculations, cabinet heat load calculations, engineering sheets, pipework isometric drawings, equipment selection and pipe sizing
  • Prepare design data for project handover including procurement schedule, identify PED category and notify compliance if CAT 4, calculate refrigerant charge, and develop high-level program and phasing if required
  • Manage projects through to completion, conduct site visits and surveys as required, and perform day-to-day tasks as directed by line manager

Job description

We are currently Seeking a Refrigeration Design Engineer ideally based in the Midlands

To design and propose light industrial and commercial systems. Detailing costs and designs to customers while meeting legislative and customer specific requirements. To create a design from an initial brief and/or drawing, whilst adhering to the latest company and industry standards.

Produce detailed design, consisting of but not limited to: Cold room heat load calculation, cabinet heat load calculations, produce engineering sheets and pipework isometric drawings, equipment selections and pipe work sizing

Knowledge of CO2 systems essential, Glycol/Chiller experience desirable but not essential.

Produce data for Design of Contracts project handover including: Equipment/supplier/sub-contractor procurement schedule, identify PED category of system and inform compliance team if CAT 4, calculate system refrigerant charge, produce high level program of works and high level phasing if required.

This is a remote working role but attendance at the Leicester office will be required as will site visits and surveys.

Take on projects as and when required and see them through to successful completion
