Requirements:

  • Provide administrative support and coordination for all aspects of new patient care, including intake of demographics, insurance, medical records, images/CDs, and PCP referrals, and scheduling/rescheduling new patient consultations.
  • Coordinate new patient consultations with referring offices and serve as a single point of contact for both referring offices and patients.
  • Use the electronic medical record system to alert Nurse Navigators, Financial Counseling, Clinical Trials, and Registration of the new consultation; answer and return calls from patients and referring offices in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate competence in data collection and in using computer systems and office resources to facilitate new patient intake; comply with policies and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Essential Functions

Provides administrative support and coordination for all aspects of patient care for new patients

Coordinates new patient consultations with referring offices.

Serves as a single point of contact for both referring offices and new patients.

Obtains accurate patient demographics, insurance, medical records, images/CDs and PCP referral.

Schedules new patient consults based on diagnosis, acuity and Provider availability. Reschedules as necessary.

Using the electronic record, alerts Nurse Navigators, Financial Counseling, Clinical Trials and Registration of the new consultation.

Answers and returns calls from both patients and referring office in a timely manner.

Demonstrates competence in performance of duties related to data collection.

Demonstrates competency in using computer systems, office equipment and resources to facilitate new patient intake.

Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards
