The ideal candidate is inherently curious, has mature interpersonal skills and has meticulous attention-to-detail. Drive, resourcefulness, and an ability to thrive in ambiguity will be crucial for this role. An understanding and appreciation of serial acquirors is an asset.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn and gain M&A experience or is playing a critical role in a hierarchical M&A organization but wants the opportunity to lead acquisition processes from start to finish.

What your impact will be:

M&A Execution (80% of the role)

• After learning our business model and processes, you will lead acquisition transactions from initial evaluation through to integration handoff

• You will be expected to thoroughly qualify acquisition targets, assessing their moats and competitive advantages

• You will be responsible for financial modeling, due diligence (including project managing our functional and business unit teams), negotiation, investment approval and post-close monitoring for multiple M&A transactions per year

• Preparing business summaries, investment memos, commentary, and responding to detailed Q&A from our internal stakeholders

M&A Business Development (20% of the role)

• Directly solicit and engage companies for acquisition: identify, research, and cold call target companies

• Work with our multiple M&A business development specialists to ensure acquisition opportunities are being effectively nurtured and appropriately escalated.

• Maintain relationships with our existing network of acquisition targets and intermediaries through telephone calls and emails

Other

• Internal reporting on pre-close acquisition activity and pipeline, post-close acquisition performance

• Some travel required (10%)

What we are looking for:

• 1-5 years of direct experience in a similar role, corporate finance, investment analysis or M&A activity; new graduates should also consider applying

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• A value-investing mindset

What will make you stand out:

• A thorough understanding of Constellation Software's history and acquisition strategy

• Sound business judgement in evaluating business quality

• Humility, curiosity, and passion

What we offer:

• 3 weeks' vacation and 5 personal days

• Comprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision coverage from your first day of employment
