  • Lead pricing reviews for new products, product revisions, and market expansions; participate in cross-functional governance and present results to leadership; develop annual and multi-year pricing strategies per line of business and customer segment
  • Build and oversee pricing models, dashboards, and KPIs aligned with loss curves, claims emergence, risk segmentation, dealer behavior, and market conditions; drive pricing innovation using advanced analytics and market intelligence
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Finance, Operations, Sales, and Legal to ensure pricing reflects risk appetite, regulatory constraints, forecast profitability, reserve impacts, and is implemented accurately across systems

Base Pay Range:

$140,000 - $155,000

As the Pricing Manager your essential job functions will include the following:

Pricing Strategy and Governance

  • Design, maintain, and evolve pricing frameworks and rate structures for each line of business based on approved risk and underwriting assumptions, as well as administrative cost structures.
  • Establish and implement pricing governance standards related to rate construction, documentation, and implementation.
  • Ensure pricing execution aligns with approved loss assumptions, underwriting guidelines, and underwriting and administrative profitability targets.
  • Participate in cross-functional pricing governance forums where underwriting and administrative assumptions and pricing decisions are reviewed and approved.
  • Lead pricing reviews for new products, product revisions, and market expansions.
  • Regular presentations to keep leadership informed of the pricing strategy as well as the results of any pricing initiatives for all lines of business.
  • Develop and maintain an annual and multi-year pricing strategy for each line of business and customer segment that ensures Sonsio remains competitive in the marketplace, taking into consideration market and industry conditions, such as tariffs and other inflationary and similar developments.
  • Build and mentor high-performing pricing resources; establish analytical standards; elevate pricing as a strategic capability across the enterprise.

Analytics, Modeling, and Financial Performance

  • Build and oversee pricing models incorporating loss curves, claims emergence patterns, risk segmentation, dealer behavior, and market and industry conditions.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting to understand historical claims and contract performance to identify trends and refine pricing assumptions.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor dashboards and KPI’s focused on pricing performance and competitive positioning to drive strategic insights and decision-making. Lead the design and implementation of visual reporting tools across product lines and customer segments.
  • Drive pricing innovation using advanced analytics, AI and market intelligence. Determine when/where new technologies such as machine learning and predictive analytics will aid team in identifying pricing opportunities, optimize price points and/or respond more intelligently to market dynamics. Contribute to development and implementation of these technologies within pricing process.
  • Apply advanced analytics and testing techniques to evaluate pricing effectiveness, elasticity, and dealer behavior.
  • Leverage market intelligence to recommend pricing strategies within defined risk appetite and approval frameworks.
  • Develop mechanisms to monitor feedback and performance due to price changes.
  • Partner with Underwriting teams to validate reserve rate adequacy and long‑term reserve impacts.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to validate admin rate adequacy and profitability.
  • Partner with Underwriting and Finance to ensure portfolio risk, loss performance, and reserve impacts are accurately reflected in enterprise reporting.
  • Lead analysis of major competitors’ pricing, including qualitative and quantitative information.
  • Clearly distinguish pricing execution results from underlying portfolio risk assessments.
  • Monitor competitive pricing and market positioning to inform strategic adjustments.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on pricing actions, rate changes, margin performance, and competitive positioning.

Cross‑Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with Sales, Risk Management, Finance and Legal to design underwriting and admin pricing for new offerings and enhancements, and to evaluate pricing requests and dealer‑specific programs.
  • Coordinate with Finance on forecasting, budgeting, and revenue planning tied to pricing decisions.
  • Partner with Underwriting and Legal to ensure pricing reflects risk appetite and regulatory constraints.

Operational Excellence

  • Lead the development and maintenance of pricing tools, rate tables, and configuration logic used by internal teams and dealer platforms.
  • Lead the implementation of pricing updates accurately and timely across systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement in pricing processes, data quality, and analytical capabilities.
  • Partner with Legal on compliance with state regulatory requirements for rate filings and product approvals.
  • Manage the core pricing systems and regularly optimize supporting the most current business objectives.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Business-related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in pricing, ideally within automotive F&I, insurance, or extended service contract industries.
  • Experience leading pricing strategy for risk‑bearing products or regulated financial products.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including experience with pricing models, loss curves, risk segmentation, and administrative pricing.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel‑based modeling; familiarity with SQL, Power BI, Snowflake or similar tools is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of service contract structures, underwriting principles, and claims emergence patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analytical insights into clear recommendations for executives and cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing analysts, leading teams, and influencing cross‑functional partners.
  • High attention to detail, strong judgment, and a structured approach to decision‑making.
