Lead/Senior Android Developer

We're seeking an experienced Lead/Senior Android Developer to drive the development of next-generation Android applications for automotive dashboards. In this role, you'll take technical ownership of one of our Android applications, architecting solutions that meet the unique demands of in-vehicle environments while mentoring a talented team of junior developers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Application Architecture: Design and architect robust Android applications with a primary focus on optimizing performance and minimizing memory footprint, ensuring applications run smoothly in resource-constrained vehicle environments.
• Quality and Safety: Oversee the development process to ensure we consistently deliver high-quality applications that prioritize driver safety. You'll establish best practices, conduct code reviews, and implement testing strategies that prevent distractions and maintain reliability.
• Technical Mentorship: Coach and develop junior developers on your team, helping them grow their technical skills, understand best practices, and contribute effectively to our projects.
• SDK Integration: Build applications leveraging the Here SDK library, implementing mapping features and location services that integrate seamlessly into vehicle dashboard systems.
• Technology Leadership: Stay informed on the latest Android development trends and technologies, particularly in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, and guide the team's technical

Must have:

• Professional Android development experience
• Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
• Strong architectural thinking: Experience designing scalable, performant applications with attention to memory optimization
• Android fundamentals: Deep understanding of Android platform architecture, lifecycle management, and system constraints
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to balance technical excellence with business requirements
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Nice to have:

• Leadership experience. Preferably in a technical lead or senior developer role with demonstrated ability to mentor and guide other developers
• Experience with automotive or embedded systems
