WHAT YOU’LL DO
The CAD Systems Manager is the owner of AVI-SPL’s CAD delivery operating model. This role is fully accountable for CAD turnaround time, quality, and backlog health across the global organization. Through leadership of CAD Supervisors, CAD Trainers, and oversight of CAD Systems Engineers & CAD Resource Specialists, this role ensures CAD services are predictable, scalable, and continuously improving without direct involvement in day-to-day project execution.
This position focuses on system health, prioritization, performance measurement, and strategic enablement, ensuring CAD delivery meets the needs of internal customers while evolving to support future business demands.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
CAD Delivery Ownership & Accountability
- Own end-to-end CAD delivery performance, including turnaround time, quality, and backlog health.
- Diagnose and correct systemic delivery issues through process, staffing, tooling, or governance changes.
- Ensure CAD delivery is predictable and scalable rather than dependent on individual effort or heroics.
Leadership of CAD Supervisors
- Provide leadership, expectations, and accountability to CAD Supervisors responsible for day-to-day execution.
- Review delivery metrics and intervene when trends indicate systemic issues.
CAD Request Tracker & Intake Governance
- Own the CAD Request Tracker as the system of record for all CAD work.
- Define and enforce intake standards, prioritization rules, and routing logic.
- Address compliance issues by working with requestor’s managers & stakeholders, escalate recurring issues.
Training Governance & CAD Enablement
- Establishes and governs mandatory CAD training for licensed engineering users to ensure ongoing alignment with current standards and tools; audits compliance and drives corrective actions
- Oversee the development and continuous refresh of CAD training programs for CAD Technicians and engineering users, ensuring adoption across all regions.
CAD Innovation Road Mapping
- Own the CAD innovation and improvement backlog.
- Prioritize and assign work based on business value and impact into sprints ensuring work is completed as committed.
Performance Measurement & Leadership Communication
- Define, track, and report meaningful CAD KPIs related to delivery health, quality, and capacity.
- Provide frequent updates to leadership
- Translate internal customer needs into structured, measurable CAD improvements.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-Haves:
- Proven experience leading CAD operations or delivery teams in a complex, multi-project environment.
- Strong understanding of CAD workflows, standards, and delivery models.
- Experience developing CAD standards and templates for large organizations
- Demonstrated ability to design and govern operational systems using metrics and process controls.
- Experience managing leaders or supervisors rather than direct execution teams.
- Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM concepts, backlog management, and sprint-based delivery.
- Strong stakeholder communication and prioritization skills.
- Experience translating business needs into scalable technical or operational solutions.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience supporting AV, AEC, or engineering design organizations.
- Experience working with global delivery teams.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD software (e.g., Revit, AutoDesk Navisworks, Modus)
- Familiarity with documentation control systems and quality assurance processes
- Experience designing or governing training programs tied to operational compliance and performance outcomes.
- Ability to travel internationally

Salary | $70k | $100k |
This pay range represents the base salary for this position. Actual compensation within the range will depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, and location.
