Job description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing clients’ bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and monthly financial close processes, supporting Strata partners. Client engagements vary from simple bank reconciliations to complex accounting tasks like deferred revenue, CPG inventory, holding accounts, and payment processor reconciliations.
Responsibilities:
• Demonstrate strong technical skills and Excel proficiency using formulas, reconciliations, and structured workpapers to analyze data and ensure accurate financial closes.
• Manage multiple client engagements, meeting deadlines by allocating time based on client needs and priorities.
• Take full ownership of assigned clients and tasks, ensuring thorough and accurate work.
• Maintain proactive communication by updating managers on progress, timelines, and potential issues.
• Request help and escalate appropriately to protect client deadlines, data integrity, and firm standards.
• Troubleshoot independently and present findings and questions thoughtfully when seeking guidance.
• Provide excellent customer service by being responsive, professional, and detail-oriented.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Respond to customer, manager, and partner requests within 24 hours.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective time management with proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and seek assistance appropriately.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• QBO and Xero certifications.

• Familiarity with accounting across multiple industries and full cycle accounting.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to Strata’s technology stack including Gusto, Bill, Teamwork, Slack, Expensify, Fathom, and other cloud accounting software.
