We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Clerk - File Splitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient handling and management of incoming mail, electronic document filing, and maintaining the organization of our electronic filing systems. This role is critical in ensuring that all legal documents are properly sorted, distributed, and accessible to the legal team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Management:
    • Split and organize files to the       correct case file.
    • Ensure all documents are accurately       labeled and categorized for easy retrieval.
    • Upload the legal documents, ensuring       they are properly categorized to our case management system.
  • Electronic Filing Systems:
    • Maintain and update the electronic       filing systems to ensure documents are organized and easily accessible.
    • Conduct regular audits of the       electronic filing system to identify and rectify any misfiling or       organizational issues.
    • Assist in the implementation of best       practices for document management and filing.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Provide general clerical support as       needed.
    • Assist in the preparation of       documents for court filings, client meetings, and other legal       proceedings.
Requirements

  

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional legal      or administrative training is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a legal or clerical role,      particularly in document management and filing.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and      electronic document management systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential      information with discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in using legal software and document management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and processes is a plus.
