Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience with 5-8 years in Account Management and/or Business Development
  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, planning and time-management skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel); strong ethics, accountability, and ability to collaborate across all organizational levels
  • Electronics knowledge in automotive electrification / battery protection is a plus

Requirements:

  • Manage overall customer relationships for assigned and prospective electrification/battery protection accounts, driving long-term sales growth and customer satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain a strong, consistent pipeline of new business; lead the direct sales process and achieve sales targets
  • Serve as primary contact for assigned accounts; coordinate cross-functional team involvement and perform routine account management including visits to current and potential clients
  • Prepare short- and long-range sales plans and strategies, utilize marketing programs to reach targets, achieve sales/profit growth, and strive for superior supplier ratings

Job description

The Business Development Manager is responsible for achieving significant long term sales growth and customer satisfaction along with managing the overall customer relationship with the assigned and prospective accounts for Sensata's electrification product portfolio. This role has a strong focus on developing a strong and consistent pipeline of new business in Electrification / Battery protection environment (current and New account). This employee will work as a primary contact for assigned accounts, including engineering, purchasing, quality, manufacturing and other areas. This employee coordinates involvement of other team members as needed. Responsible for all business development and sales at assigned accounts and achieving significant sales and profit growth to meet or exceed goals set by the Sales Manager while achieving superior supplier ratings.

General Responsibilities
• Leads the direct sales process and achieving sales targets
• Responsible for visits to current and potential clients
• Leads the performing of routine account management activities
• Submits short and long-range sales plans and prepares sales strategies utilizing available marketing programs to reach nominated targets
• Ensures that clients receive high quality customer service

Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

  • Electronics Knowledge in Automotive electrification / Battery protection space is a plus.
  • Minimum 5-8 years experience in Account Management and/or Business Development.
