Requirements:

  • Provide functional leadership to a software engineering team delivering CUAS and C2 solutions, collaborating with the SW Chief Architect on design, development, and delivery
  • Develop and implement software engineering best practices, modular architectures, and interoperability standards; drive innovation with ML and geospatial techniques
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets; coordinate with internal/external stakeholders to define requirements and ensure successful delivery; mentor junior engineers
  • Oversee QA and automated testing pipelines; support testing and deployment including integration with external devices/sensors; interface with customers and partners to present capabilities and resolve technical questions

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Software Engineering Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to lead the develppment and delivery of next generation Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) and Command and Control (C2) solutions.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provides functional leadership and regular direction to a team of skilled software engineers working to deliver next generation Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) and Command and Control (C2) solutions.
  • Collaborates with the SW Chief Architect on the design, development, and delivery of software solutions, ensuring quality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Develops and implements software engineering best practices, including modular architectures and interoperability standards.
  • Manages project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful execution.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including technical leads, program managers, and customers, to define requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Mentors and provides technical guidance to junior engineers in completing their assigned tasks and assists in resolving complex technical issues that exceed their current skills.
  • Directly contributes to SW development efforts with a portion of their work week.
  • Drives innovation by leveraging advanced techniques such as machine learning and geospatial algorithms to enhance software capabilities.
  • Oversees quality assurance processes, including automated testing pipelines, to ensure robust software solutions.
  • Supports testing and deployment of software systems, including integration with external devices and sensors.
  • Directly interfaces with customer subject matter experts and leadership including presenting our current and planned capabilities and answering technical questions.
  • Directly interfaces with partners and equipment suppliers to support integration and troubleshooting efforts.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Advanced proficiency in core programming languages, including Java, Python, and C++.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, including modular architectures and DevSecOps practices.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working in high visibility roles


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Experience with geospatial tools, algorithms, and sensor integration (EO/IR, RF, Radar, Acoustic).
  • Expertise in developing interfaces using APIs, including Restful Services and WebSockets.
  • Proficiency in automated build/test pipelines and deployment scripts using tools such as Jenkins, Maven, and Ansible.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks for image processing, classification models, and synthetic data generation.
  • Ability to work from or travel to the Northern Virginia area including our Integration and test Facility in Summit Point, WV (about 1 hour from DC)

Education and Typical Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's Degree preferred.
  • 20+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.

Licenses and Certifications:
Relevant certifications in software engineering, DevSecOps, or related fields are preferred.

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $176,900.00 - $332,400.00
