Roles & Responsibilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of on-site sales call experience; prior dealer/distributor sales experience preferred.
  • Prior sales experience in growth industries (e.g., appliance, agricultural equipment, power tools, electronics, consumer durables, construction equipment, and/or power sports) preferred with strong negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn in-house CRM/sales tools; strong interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills; ability to work with limited supervision.

Requirements:

  • Secure and develop new dealers to meet territory sales and market-share goals; plan, enhance, and measure the performance of assigned dealers and service the dealer base.
  • Plan and conduct dealer calls; present Husqvarna products and promotions to customers and document discussions and outcomes in CRM.
  • Demonstrate equipment and provide product application learning opportunities; facilitate execution of sales, marketing, and promotional campaigns and monitor dealer inventory levels.
  • Represent Husqvarna at trade shows, industry events, and dealer shows; travel up to 60% (overnights required) with some weekend travel as needed.

The territory for this position is:  Oregon, SW Washington, Boise, ID, Southern Idaho, and Alaska.

The Territory Manager (TM) is part of the U.S. Sales team and adds value for Husqvarna and it’s dealers by cultivating a business relationship that facilitates each dealer’s growth, optimal performance, and success. The TM is responsible for securing and developing new dealers that help meet sales and market-share goals for the territory. This position will plan, enhance, and measure the performance of assigned dealers, as well as service the dealer base.  This job regularly requires being in front of the customers to present products, promotional programs, etc.  Required travel is up to 60% with overnights required.  Some weekend travel may be required for special events.

What You Need to Know:

  • Develop a plan to increase company brand position in assigned territory

  • Gain dealer commitment & orders

  • Make planned dealer-calls and document the discussions and outcomes in CRM

  • Demonstrate equipment and provide product application learning opportunities.  Able to lift 40-50 lbs to demo and set up trade shows

  • Facilitate the success of sales, marketing, and promotional campaigns

  • Acquaint dealers with the latest selling techniques

  • Monitor dealer inventory levels and drive business adjustments as required

  • Represent Husqvarna at trade, industry, and dealer shows

What We Are Looking For:

  • Minimum of high school degree or equivalent; Bachelor Degree Preferred

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience conducting on-site sales calls

  • Lives in a location within the assigned territory that the Company logically determines will best serve our customers

  • Prior sales experience in industries that have shown dramatic growth and volume in sales, such as appliance, agricultural equipment, power tool, electronics, consumer durables, construction equipment, and/or power sports businesses preferred

  • Prior dealer/distributor sales experience preferred

  • Proven sales performer with excellent negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems independently and transfer expert knowledge into practical solutions as part of maintaining a successful relationship with dealers and customers.

  • Demonstrated understanding of market positioning both from a financial and product viewpoint.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or aptitude and passion for learning extensively about outdoor power equipment and the industry in order to represent the Husqvarna brand and products effectively to dealers.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop high quality working relationships both internally and externally.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills, demonstrating ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), as well as the ability to learn and master other in-house programs that track sales and customer relations

  • Ability to work under limited supervision while maintaining accountability for sales results
