Job description

Scale LLP, a national, fully distributed law firm, is inviting experienced attorneys to join its growing national practice. We are a firm built for high-performing attorneys who want the freedom to shape and grow their practices without the bureaucracy and overhead of traditional Big Law.

Who We Are:
Founded by former tech GCs, Scale was created to rethink the traditional law firm model - removing inefficiency and outdated economics while preserving what matters most: exceptional legal work, sophisticated clients, and professional credibility. Our mission? Build the best remote law firm in the country. Scale's attorneys work for a variety of clients - from emerging ventures to mature enterprises and public companies - across Corporate, Intellectual Property, and Litigation practice groups.

Who We're Seeking:
We are looking for a Corporate Associate based in or near Fort Worth, Texas to support our Corporate & Securities Group. This role offers something rare: a remote position supplemented with direct, in-person mentorship from one of the co-heads of our Corporate & Securities Group whose office is in the Fort Worth area. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about the combination of a remote position paired with in person mentorship and client interaction opportunities, spending a few days each month working alongside a seasoned partner in Granbury as an investment in your development, not just supervision. If you want to build your practice with real guidance and hands-on client exposure, this is the opportunity.

About You

  • You have 3–5 years of substantive, hands-on corporate experience in client-facing roles.
  • Your ideal background includes:
    • general corporate representation, entity formation and corporate governance
    • commercial contract drafting and negotiation
    • mergers and acquisitions (including due diligence and transaction documentation)
    • private placements and securities offerings
    • public company reporting and SEC compliance, and business succession planning.

Compensation & Opportunity
Scale operates on a non-traditional business model. While this position comes with a full-time engagement expectation, we are a fully remote firm with no offices. Associates take home a base salary, and are eligible for production bonuses starting at 1,250 billed hours annually. Associates are also eligible for origination payouts on matters that they bring to the firm. The firm also contributes to health insurance premiums for plans elected through Scale.

We emphasize the importance of community within our remote-first structure. Attorneys are afforded many different opportunities - both virtual and in-person - for connection, mentoring, best practice sharing and client development.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

At Scale LLP, we believe a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion is integral to hiring exceptional people and creating enduring businesses. We strive to create an organization where every individual is valued and empowered to reach their full potential. We are committed to ensuring Scale is one of the best places to work for all by creating diverse teams, strengthening our culture of inclusion, and giving everyone an equitable opportunity to succeed.

Scale LLP is proud to be an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer. We evaluate qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion (including religious dress and grooming practices), sex (including pregnancy, childbirth and related medical conditions, breastfeeding, and conditions related to breastfeeding), gender, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, ancestry, age (40 or over), physical or medical disability, medical condition, marital status, registered domestic partner status, sexual orientation, genetic information, military and/or veteran status, or any other basis prohibited by applicable state or federal law.
