Job description

What You'll Do:

As an SMB Relationship Manager at Principal Financial Group, you will play a significant role in driving revenue growth, retention, and economic improvements for our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with key advisors and clients to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Conducting regular meetings with clients and advisors to demonstrate the outcomes generated by our services.
  • Implementing strategies around plan design, services, investments, participant education, pricing, and compliance.
  • Providing consultation and solution-based recommendations to help plan sponsors meet their objectives.
  • Handling sensitive communications and negotiations to preserve favorable relationships and uphold Principal's interests.
  • Bringing to bear your knowledge of products, industry trends, and investments to proactively differentiate Principal.
  • Collaborating closely with internal partners to improve team collaboration while maintaining responsibility for client and advisor relationships.

Who You Are:
  • 4+ years of related industry experience or equivalent proven through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Licensing will be required based on state/federal laws and/or company policy in accordance with current licensing policy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of business and retirement products strongly preferred
  • Ability to understand and explain technical information to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Requires becoming an associated person of Principal Securities, Inc., which includes fingerprinting and a full background check. Successful completion of a motor vehicle driving record check is also required.
  • Travel required (30%), including overnight stays (10%).
Salary Range Information: Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range: $94000 - $127000 / year Time Off Program: Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible: Yes Additional Information:

Location

This position will be remote, but requires residency in Salt Lake City, UT. Some travel required.
