What will this role achieve?

pladis is in a fortunate position to have some of the UK & Ireland’s most loved and consumed food brands in McVitie’s ™, Jaffa, Penguin, Mini Cheddars, Jacob’s, Carr’s etc. At pladis we believe in growing and stretching our teams. pladis is a leading food manufacturer in the FMCG sector.

The Business Account Manager (BAM) responsible for Poundland at pladis is accountable for the full commercial and strategic management of the account across Biscuits, Snacks and Cake. This role is pivotal within the Discounter channel and plays a major part in delivering both growth and operational excellence for one of pladis’ largest high‑volume retail partners.

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Full ownership and accountability of Biscuits & Snacks
  • Full P&L management including forecasting and delivery of monthly sales/profit targets
  • A winning JBP to be built, negotiated and delivered
  • Management of up to one direct report with responsibility of Sales Operations for the total Discounter team
  • Focus on your direct reports targets and development
  • Build winning relationships with all Buyers and being able to handle combative conversations and turning them back to collaborative
  • Build a short and long term strategy to win in Uk Bargains, on-boarding internal functions to ensure execution of winning growth and share plans for pladis
  • Implement the plan using negotiation skills, creativity and energy
  • Set high standards for internal reporting and performance reviews
  • Conduct store visits, reporting on pladis, competitor and adjacent categories to build winning plans

Essential

  • Experience in a National Account Management role, preferably managing customers within the discounters channel
  • Proven experience in a customer facing role and handling tough conversations
  • Driven individual and creativity to challenge the status quo internally and externally
  • Working autonomously and a team towards a common goal
  • Problem solving and solution orientated
  • Eye for detail to hold the customers to account vs internal forecasting
  • Negotiation training & experience
  • Creative flare to turn challenges into opportunities
  • Branded experience (as opposed to Retailer Brand).

What will the interview process be?

  • 1st stage interview – 45 minutes competency-based interview based on our company values and your experiences.
  • 2nd stage interview – 60 minutes – a technical interview to understand your skill set/case study or presentation interview.

pladis does also use both Psychometric and Aptitude tests to support our processes so you may be asked to complete these as part of your process.
