Sr. Software Engineer, Core Banking

The Core Banking squad is responsible for building and maintaining a robust abstraction layer that powers Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) products by orchestrating Pismo’s core components and external payment providers.
Our mission is to deliver scalable and geolocation-agnostic financial services, with a strong focus on resilience, data integrity, and a collaborative engineering culture built on documentation and solid technical practices.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Golang, deployed on AWS
• Participate in technical discussions and product refinements with cross-functional teams
• Manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform for provisioning, updates, and decommissioning
• Monitor applications through logs, metrics, and observability tools

This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice. #LI-Remote

Basic qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Golang and Java
• At least 6 months of hands-on experience with Golang
• Experience working with AWS services
• Knowledge or practical experience using Terraform
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc)
• Intermediate English (B1) – capable of reading and writing technical documentation

Prefered qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems
• Background in high-scale environments
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Containers/Docker
• Familiarity with messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, SQS)
• Experience with observability and production support
