Job description

We’re helping a pair of growing creative businesses in the ceramics and chocolate industries find a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support their financial operations. You’ll manage day-to-day bookkeeping across multiple accounts, ensure accurate records, and provide financial clarity that helps the founders focus on growth.

Part-Time: ~10 hours/week (with potential to grow to full-time)
Schedule: Flexible, but must be available for catch-ups in AEST
Location: Fully Remote
Engagement: Independent Contractor
Rate: 200-400 USD (10-hour workweek, depending on level of experience)
Start Date: ASAP

What You’ll Do

  • Manage QuickBooks Online including reconciliations, categorizing expenses, and invoice management

  • Clear existing backlog of bank reconciliations and maintain accurate, up-to-date records

  • Generate and send client invoices, track payments, and issue reminders as needed

  • Handle international transfers via Airwallex and similar platforms

  • Manage retainer billing for select clients

  • Track and organize financial records across multiple revenue streams

  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly reports

  • (Optional) Support with tax preparation and filing

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven bookkeeping experience (at least 1 year), ideally with small or creative businesses

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online

  • Experience handling international transactions

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Good written and spoken English communication skills

  • Comfortable with remote tools (Google Drive, QuickBooks, Slack/WhatsApp)

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with Airwallex or other multi-currency platforms

  • Understanding of Australian accounting/tax standards

  • Experience working in creative industries, eCommerce, or hospitality
