Requirements:

  • Support the design, administration, and continuous improvement of employee benefit and wellness programs by analyzing costs, regulatory requirements, market competitiveness, and employee engagement; conduct benchmarking and monitor legislative developments
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on health and welfare benefits, leave programs, and workplace health and safety policies, delivering high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and deliver clear employee communications across multiple channels (intranet, plan materials, onboarding, training sessions, and consultations) including onboarding and annual open enrollment
  • Plan and support audit controls through collection, analysis, and reporting of benefit plan data and trends; draft and maintain departmental procedures; manage special projects like data cleanup, system upgrades, and vendor transitions; track and report progress

We’re looking for a Senior HR Benefits Analyst who is ready to play a pivotal role in driving the benefits administration and analytical support for our company’s benefits plans and/or employee health services programs. In this role, you will participate in plan design, cost analysis, and program management for benefit plans (health, welfare, and retirement).

What You’ll Do

  • Support the design, administration, and continuous improvement of employee benefit and wellness programs by analyzing costs, regulatory requirements, market competitiveness, and employee engagement. Conduct benchmarking, research industry trends, monitor legislative developments, and assess potential impacts.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on health and welfare benefits, leave programs, and workplace health and safety policies, exercising discretion and delivering high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Develop and deliver clear, effective employee communications across multiple channels, including the company intranet, plan materials, onboarding, training sessions, and individual consultations, including onboarding and annual open enrollment.

  • Plan and support audit controls through the collection, analysis, and reporting of benefit plan and program data and trends. Draft and maintain departmental procedures and documentation in accordance with compliance guidelines.

  • Manage special projects such as data cleanup initiatives, system upgrades, vendor transitions, and data analysis. Provide support for team initiatives, including events and wellbeing programs, and track and report progress on assigned projects.

Hiring Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 5+ years of experience in related field, showing role progression and increased responsibility

  • In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in related field

Bonus Points 

  • Experience with Workday Benefits administration preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills, including experience with benefit audits, benchmarking, and financial analysis of benefit and wellness program costs, utilization, and return on investment.

  • Hands-on experience managing health, welfare, and retirement plans, including vendor management, particularly within self-funded medical plans and 401(k) plans at small to mid-sized organizations.

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets,  licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs. 

*Based on annual corporate goal achievement and individual performance.
 

$81,068.00 - $129,708.00
