The Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role requires deep technical expertise in AWS services, cloud architecture, automation, and DevOps practices. The Senior Cloud Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust cloud solutions that support business objectives and ensure operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure and services on AWS, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
Architect and implement solutions using AWS best practices, including networking, compute, storage, and security services.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud environments for performance, cost, and security.
Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to support application deployment and CI/CD pipelines.
Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.
Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.
Stay current with AWS advancements and recommend new services or architectures as appropriate.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on AWS.
Deep knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK).
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS).
Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles.
Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus).
Knowledge of cost optimization strategies in AWS.
Experience in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
