Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Solutions Engineer or similar technical role with a solid IT/cloud infrastructure background (virtualization, networking, storage).
  • Experience supporting PoCs, technical demos, or enterprise infrastructure evaluations, including customer-facing discovery sessions and architecture discussions.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written) and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in a remote, distributed team.

Requirements:

  • Prepare and deliver technical demos, use cases, and solution validations; run discovery sessions and set up, execute, and document PoCs and technical evaluations.
  • Assess solution feasibility, identify risks or dependencies early in the sales cycle; provide technical input for RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs with the Account Executive.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to clarify requirements, validate configurations, reproduce issues, and maintain/improve documentation for presales environments, demos, and PoCs.
  • Stay current with OpenNebula releases, roadmap, and relevant open-source/infrastructure technologies; communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences in a fully remote setting.

Job Description

We are looking for a Solutions Engineer with a strong background in cloud infrastructure to support our sales team during technical engagements.

In this role, you will design and demonstrate solutions built with OpenNebula, help customers validate architectures through PoCs, and collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to ensure technical success during the evaluation process

Responsibilities

Customer Technical Engagement

  • Prepare and deliver technical demos, use cases, and solution validations.

  • Run technical discovery sessions to understand customer infrastructure and requirements.

  • Set up, execute, and document Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and technical evaluations.

Technical Validation & Solution Assessment

  • Assess solution feasibility and identify risks, limitations, or dependencies early in the sales cycle.

  • Provide technical input for RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs with the Account Executive.

Collaboration, Documentation & Product Knowledge

  • Work with Product and Engineering to clarify requirements, validate configurations, and reproduce issues.

  • Maintain and improve documentation for presales environments, demos, and PoCs.

  • Stay current with OpenNebula releases, roadmap, and relevant open-source and infrastructure technologies.

Experience required

Academic Background and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or engineering

Professional Experience

  • 3-5years of experience as a Solutions Engineer or in a similar technical role

  • Solid background in IT/cloud infrastructure environments, including virtualization, networking, and storage

  • Experience supporting PoCs, technical demos, or infrastructure evaluations in enterprise environments

  • Exposure to customer-facing technical interactions such as discovery sessions, architecture discussions, or solution presentations is a plus

Technical Experience

  • Linux administration: RHEL/AlmaLinux, Ubuntu/Debian

  • Experience using virtualization technologies such as KVM, LXC, libvirt/QEMU, and/or VMware

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, private cloud platforms, and cloud management frameworks

  • Understanding of DevOps practices, infrastructure automation, or infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is a plus
    Exposure to containerization or orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes is a plus

  • Ability to document technical setups, architectures, and configurations clearly

  • Experience working with APIs, automation, or scripting in infrastructure environments is a plus

  • Experience with AI infrastructure from an IaaS perspective (e.g., GPU workloads, accelerated computing) would be very advantageous

Language Skills

  • Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written)

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Soft Skills & Collaboration

  • Strong customer-focused mindset with an emphasis on responsiveness and problem solving

  • Clear and structured communication when discussing architectures, technical constraints, and solutions

  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote, distributed environment, managing priorities and delivering predictable outcomes

  • Comfortable using Git, CI/CD workflows, and modern collaboration tools (Slack, Zoom, GitHub)

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and reproduce technical scenarios with minimal supervision
