Department Overview

The Ecosystem Operations Team delivers solutions to the public safety sector. The group is committed to providing technology and tools that will allow customers to focus on their mission and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. The group builds integrations between different products and features such as Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management Systems (RMS), Jail Management Systems and Evidence Management, among other offerings. Interfaces are typically between Motorola Solutions, Inc. (MSI) products and third-party applications. The team is also in charge of API Enablement, providing solutions and governance over product API in the ecosystem, internally or externally exposed.

Job Description

This Software Engineering position will be a member of the team that develops interfaces between Motorola's products and third party products. Develop and test software interfaces between MSI products (CAD, RMS, Real Time Command & Control, and Analytics) and a variety of 3rd party systems systems as required to meet customer requirements defined by solution architects. Interfaces are developed using an Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) architecture with adapters to 3rd party and MSI systems and a transformation layer that includes field mapping, filtering, triggering, and business logic.  Interfaces are implemented using a variety of technologies, including Microsoft .NET (C#), Java, XML, XSLT and SQL.

Basic Requirements

Bachelors Degree

At least 3 years of experience with professional software development
At least 3 years of experience with .NET Framework

At least 3 years of experience with relational databases

Additional qualifications that would be helpful:

Experience with Java platform development

Experience with Agile Software Development practices

Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2012+

Experience using Microsoft C#

Experience creating RESTful web services
Experience using source control technologies (Git preferred)
Experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)

Experience with cloud technologies (Azure preferred)

Experience using Kubernetes or Azure Service Fabric
