You will define safety strategy and architecture, run hazard & risk assessments, produce and manage ISO 26262 artifacts, work closely with HW/FW/SW teams, and coordinate certification with customers and external assessors.
Requirements
- SoC architect experience — demonstrated hands-on experience designing or leading SoC architecture decisions for complex silicon platforms (CPU subsystems, sensors/telemetry interfaces, firmware interaction).
- Deep, detailed knowledge of ISO 26262 (all relevant parts for management, concept, HW/SW development, and production), and working experience applying the standard in product development projects.
- Proven experience leading ISO 26262 certification from planning through audit/assessment and delivery of safety cases and supporting evidence.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in functional safety, safety management, or related roles in semiconductor/automotive/embedded SoC environments.
- Hands-on experience performing , FMEDA/FMEA, ASIL allocation, safety concept definition, and V&V planning.
- Strong familiarity with tool qualification, safety-related processes and organization-specific safety documentation/templates.
- Excellent stakeholder management, written and verbal communication skills (English), and experience leading cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with ASIL B or higher certification projects in semiconductor/SoC contexts.
- Knowledge of automotive RTOS/firmware and embedded device constraints (timing, concurrency, resource limits).
Responsibilities
- Act as the company’s lead Functional Safety Manager for HW and SW projects across the product line.
- Lead the end-to-end ISO 26262 certification process: define safety plan, own lifecycle activities, prepare and maintain safety case, manage audits and interactions with assessors.
- Translate safety goals into concrete safety concepts and architectural requirements; drive safety-by-design across all disciplines
- Lead hazard analysis, ASIL allocation, FMEDA/FMEA preparation, and V&V planning and execution; ensure evidence is produced to support certification.
- Define, adopt and enforce organization-specific rules/processes for functional safety and ensure consistency with ProteanTecs’ templates and safety culture.
- Drive tool-qualification decisions and documentation in line with ISO 26262 tool guidance.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (HW, FW, SW, QA, Product) and external suppliers/customers to ensure timely delivery of safety artifacts and certification milestones.
- Mentor/coach engineers on ISO 26262 requirements, safety engineering practices and company safety processes; run trainings and awareness sessions.
- Maintain and evolve company safety documentation (safety plan, templates, checklists), and capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.
