Job description

Summary

The Digital Lender role provides prompt, polite, and comprehensive help to members or potential members via various digital channels.  The incumbent in this role assists with processing and funding of Digital Lending loans. Conduct remote interviews, evaluate loan requests, and offer timely loan decisions based on solid underwriting. Promote credit union products and services to enhance members' financial status and foster long-term relationships.

  • The credit union is in compliance with all requirements of BSA, OFAC, and the USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP).

 

Capability Requirements

  • Associate degree in a business-related field
  • Two years consumer lending experience. In addition to a combination of 2 years’ experience in the following areas: Public contact/customer service, call center, loan underwriting, or successful completion of Summit CU LPS program.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build loyal customer relationships through effective use of sales, service recovery, interpersonal skills and customer referrals.
  • Working knowledge of commonly accepted principles of lending.
  • Excellent organizational skills and work habits.
  • Knowledge of current Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as they pertain to the granting of credit.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently exercise sound judgment in credit granting decisions.
  • Have or able to attain a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number.

Additional Details

  • Physical Demands of Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers.  The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and /or carry up to 10 pounds. 
  • Environmental/Working Conditions: Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branches requires exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.
  • Equipment Used: Variety of office equipment (telephone, printer, pc, mobile devices, etc.).
