Roles & Responsibilities

  • Oversee on-site safety for survey and installation work in hazardous environments (HAZMAT, underground, confined spaces) for team and USG personnel, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards
  • Develop safety plans and training materials; conduct site inspections and audits of safety policies and protocols
  • Serve as On-Site Safety Officer on installation sites; monitor adherence to OSHA safety standards and safety management practices
  • Produce safety incident reports and data deliverables; assess performance and drive continuous improvement; ensure restoration of the site to original or better condition

ActioNet is looking for a Senior Safety Officer to join our team in Vienna, VA.  
Key Responsibilities
  • Senior OSHA-certified role, overseeing all aspects of team and USG personnel on-site safety related to survey and installation work in HAZMAT, underground, confined spaces, and other dangerous situations. 
  • Develops safety plan and training materials for all staff. Conducts inspections of work sites and audit compliance with all safety policies and protocols. Serves as the On-Site Safety Officer on the installation site and works full time monitoring compliance with OSHA safety standards.
  • Possesses knowledge or experience of safety management and safety engineering.
  • Possesses physical presence and experience working on implementation or installation sites of various sizes and project complexity.
  • Produces reports regarding safety incidents and inputs data deliverables for the safety incidents. 
  • Ensures installations are performed within safety standards and work site conditions (cleanliness), including restoration of the site to original or better condition.Evaluates performance results and recommends changes for continuous improvement. 
  • Functions as a safety expert across multiple project assignments.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree: Technical BA/BS degree;
  • Experience: 7 years with BA/BS degree;
  • Commensurate: High School diploma or associate degree with a minimum of 10 years performing as a Safety Lead, Manager, or Officer supporting solutions on large, complex projects; 
  • Specific Skills: Experience supporting DoD projects, specifically network modernization; proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio);
  • Certification(s): OSHA, Construction Safety 30-Hour Training; Confined Space Training; First Aid;
  • Clearance: Secret
