Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer 2 (Remote) position with a Global Medical Technology Company in San Diego, CA. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.
Compensation: $55.00 - 65.00 per hour, W2.
In this role, you will design, develop, implement, test, and maintain business and computer application software within an agile team environment. The focus will be on client/server applications and on major enhancements to existing systems, including the development and maintenance of scalable, low-latency, and fault-tolerant APIs.
Responsibilities:
Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives as part of an agile team
Design, develop, and maintain APIs for customer onboarding, account management, hospital/partner integrations, and CGM data exchange
Build responsive frontend and backend applications using modern frameworks and technologies
Work with NoSQL and RDBMS databases
Write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
Develop web applications with Angular or other modern JavaScript frameworks
Design and optimize database schemas and queries
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate design, development, testing, and quality control
Ensure code quality and reliability through continuous testing and code reviews
Containerize applications using Docker and deploy them to cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform
Use tools like Kubernetes (K8s) and Helm for orchestration and management of containerized applications
Implement and manage authentication and authorization mechanisms
Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions
Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and APIs
Document API specifications, design decisions, and development processes
Gather and analyze system requirements, document specifications, and develop software solutions
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in data/software engineering or a similar field
2-4 years of software engineering experience
A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
Experience in programming with Java or Kotlin (2 years minimum)
Experience with mobile application development (iOS required, Android is a plus)
Experience with backend development
Experience with REST APIs and RDBMS
Experience performing in-depth troubleshooting and unit testing with both new and legacy production systems
Desired skills:
Experience with Containerization and GCP
Experience with OAuth, OpenID, and SSO
Experience with Spring Boot, Node.js, and Express
