Description

Vistra seeks a Communications Specialist to assist our client with email, web, social marketing, and digital outreach efforts. The specialist will ensure alignment of all marketing content, including social media and digital and print outreach products, to the organization’s marketing plan. The client is a professional military education institution offering degree and certificate programs to enlisted Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen.


This is a hybrid role, with most work done remotely. There will be a monthly on-site visit requirement at Quantico, VA, or Annapolis, MD. 


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain the organization’s Communications Plan to include messaging to target audiences, using demographics, psychographic data, and market research
  • Develop and maintain an electronic communications calendar, building a library of stock messages that can be distributed via social and digital platforms
  • Develop and maintain broad student communication and email to enhance the student experience and improve efficiencies
  • Test, analyze, and suggest improvements to email marketing campaigns on an ongoing basis
  • Translate complex strategies, ideas, and strategic objectives into actionable digital marketing campaigns
  • Track and report all marketing analytics, including social media, email, targeted marketing campaigns
  • Support the communications team through quality assurance methods to ensure message alignment and quality
  • Use project management tools and documentation platforms to streamline marketing and web content workflows and coordinate team activities
Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field


Experience: 5 years of experience with communications, social media, and digital marketing


Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in email marketing management platforms, with a preference for Salesforce or GovDelivery
  • Experience with social media and email messaging development
  • Experience with marketing automation utilizing Salesforce or another CRM platform
  • Experience with quality assurance for communications products
  • Demonstrated knowledge of email best practices and global standards, including CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR and other government and institutional privacy policies 
  • Experience with Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite, and similar social media management platforms
  • Experience with project management and documentation platforms, including Jira, Trello, Microsoft Planner, or similar
  • Ability to manage and update complex communication plans across multiple media types
  • Experience working with government or military digital marketing campaigns preferred
  • Experience with performing a content audit or content inventory
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance or DoW background investigation
