Requirements:

  • Manage audio visual systems across event venues, track technical needs, and provide on-site support to ensure successful events

  • Oversee daily setup and teardown for group business; plan and direct the work of technicians to meet labor requirements
  • Research and stay current on new AV technology and equipment purchases (audio, visual, rigging, lighting); manage asset procurement and inventory

Job description

Position Overview

Curio Hilton Hotel seeks applications for a full-time Audio Visual Operations Manager (AVOM) to begin immediately. This is a highly detail-oriented role responsible for managing audio visual systems in event venues, tracking technical needs, scheduling and training technicians, and providing support to ensure that each event is successful. The position requires a creative, self-motivated professional with excellent technical, communication, organizational, and troubleshooting skills and a proven record of delivering results in a complex audiovisual environment. The ability to trouble shoot audiovisual systems and manage many simultaneous projects, details, and deadlines is critical. This is a 12-month full-time on-site position which requires weekend, evening, and on-call work in support of a busy  event calendar. This is not an online or remote position.

Staff Development

Interviewing, selecting, training and conducting performance appraisals and coaching employees as well as plans and directs the work of technicians. Resolving employee situations or guest challenges. Manage the development of the Event Technology department and staff.

Labor Management

Oversee the daily sets and clears of group business. Schedule staff members to ensure appropriate business levels will be accommodated. Plan and direct the work of the technicians.

Asset Management

Research and remain current on new technology and equipment to purchase (ie. audio, visual, rigging, lighting, etc.)

Communication

Perform exceptional communication skills throughout all functions of the job i.e. guests, department managers, and fellow employees.

Training

Supportive to property-wide training programs including but not limited to OSHA, Safety, Educational and Employee Enhancement programs to assure the continual upgrading of department personnel.
