Job description

Chamber of Progress, a center-left tech industry association devoted to technology’s progressive future, is seeking a Director or Senior Director of Advocacy Campaigns to lead our advertising, polling, grasstops, grassroots, and digital advocacy campaigns.  This role is focused on bringing voters and consumers’ voices to bear on federal, state, and local policy debates.

Responsibilities
  • Direct the organization’s advocacy campaigns on state and federal legislation and regulatory issues
  • Lead coordination with partner companies, internal team members, and external vendors
  • Oversee the organization’s advertising, polling, grassroots, grasstops, and digital advocacy campaigns
  • Supervisor outside vendors and service providers
  • Supervise local grasstops activities
  • Track and manage campaign budgets to ensure efficient allocation of resources
  • Develop an intimate understanding of the federal, state, and local political landscape surrounding our policy priorities

  • Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Director: Minimum of 5 years of post-college work experience
  • Senior Director: Minimum of 10 years of post-college work experience
  • Aggressive mindset and bias toward actionPrior experience driving policy, advocacy, or public affairs campaigns that led to desired political, legislative, or electoral results
  • Experience in government, Democratic politics, or progressive causes
  • Experience managing and tracking political campaign budgets
  • Outstanding writing abilities; must be a creative, succinct, and fast writer
  • Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic, and organizational skills
  • Experience in managing political giving / advertising programs a plus
  • Remote location okay; must be located within the continental U.S.

  • Compensation and Benefits
  • Director: Starting salary between $110,000 - $140,000 annually  (based on experience)
  • Senior Director: Starting salary between $140,000 - $180,000 annually (based on experience)
