Roles & Responsibilities

  • Enrolled in a business program at an accredited university or college and graduating in May 2027 or December 2026; Insurance and Risk Management programs strongly preferred
  • Willing to work onsite Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. (no remote internships)
  • Prior customer support experience preferred; strong organization/administrative and computing skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision, maintain deadlines, and demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, problem-solving, multitasking, and discretion with sensitive information

  • Support the Chief Growth Officer and Head of Practice Areas with special projects across multiple industries; assist in developing and preparing strategy presentations for senior leadership
  • Conduct research and analysis on key markets, competitive landscapes, and potential market opportunities; analyze sales production results and help interpret business performance trends
  • Work on cross-department projects aligned with organizational strategy; identify and evaluate emerging industry trends to support strategic planning; participate in business strategy discussions and provide analytical insights
  • Perform research, data analysis, and summarize results to support decision-making

Job description

Position Summary

The WORLD Internship Program is a 10-week program aimed to develop a bench of talented professionals who will be able to join us after college graduation. In this internship, you will gain exposure to enterprise‑level business strategy by supporting the Chief Growth Officer and the Head of Practice Areas. You will learn how strategic initiatives are developed across multiple industries, how market opportunities are evaluated, and how data informs decision‑making. Throughout the program, you will contribute to research, analysis, and project work that supports WORLD’s broader organizational strategy.

Primary Responsibilities

You will work alongside our leadership team and help drive the timely and accurate completion of assigned special projects:

  • Support the Chief Growth Officer and Head of Practice Areas with special projects across multiple industries.
  • Assist in the development and preparation of strategy presentations for senior leadership.
  • Conduct research and analysis on key markets, competitive landscapes, and potential market opportunities.
  • Analyze sales production results and support the interpretation of business performance trends.
  • Work on a variety of cross‑department projects aligned with organizational strategy and priority projects.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging industry trends to support strategic planning.
  • Participate in business strategy discussions and contribute analytical insights.
  • Perform research, data analysis, and summarize results to support decision‑making.
Key components of the program include In addition to the work you do with your manager daily, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in programs and events over the 10 weeks.   
  • Intern Orientation and Closing Presentation at Iselin, New Jersey headquarters 
  • Speaker Presentations, Town Halls, Monthly webinars by Executive Leadership 
  • Learning from our CEO and COO about World’s business strategy, operating model, and key priorities 
  • Self-paced online program provided by the Council for Insurance Agents and Brokers 
  • Fun networking, volunteer, and social events 
  • Developmental workshops  
Qualifications:
  • Must be enrolled in a business program at an accredited university or college and graduating in May 2027 or December 2026. (Graduates and students enrolled in Insurance and Risk Management programs strongly preferred)
  • Must be willing to work onsite, M-F between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (we do not offer remote internships)
  • Prior customer support experience preferred.
  • Possess strong organization / administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Able to work independently and enjoy a high degree of interaction with team members. Self-motivated and driven.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency and ability to work with and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, including the ability to actively listen, and problem solve with minimal assistance.
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently, and use discretion surrounding sensitive information.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude.

Compensation
The compensation for this internship is $23/hr.
