At least 5 years of experience in IBM mainframe MQ support.
Experience with MQ on z/OS; creating and maintaining QMGRs and MQ objects (queues, channels, etc.).
Understanding of how applications interact with MQ via APIs.
Proficiency with z/OS, ISPF, JCL, SDSF, JES, PDSE, VSAM, and related utilities.
Requirements:
Provide IBM mainframe MQ support on z/OS, including administration of QMGRs, queues, channels, and MQ objects; diagnose and resolve issues and optimize performance.
Design, implement, and maintain MQ connectivity methods (batch, MQ clustering, SVRCONN, MQIPT) and ensure effective monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboarding (Prometheus/Grafana, Ironstream/Splunk).
Develop and maintain technical and procedural documentation; create messaging flows; participate in disaster recovery exercises; manage change, incident, problem, and on-call processes.
Collaborate with IBM software and third-party vendors, provide excellent customer service, and implement automations for MQ operations (syslog messages, auto-ticketing), including Capexpry implementations to prevent orphaned messages.
