Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) with 1+ year of related professional experience.
  • FE Exam successfully completed or able to complete within one year of employment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Geopak, or related design software.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Requirements:

  • Assist in planning, design, and analysis of stormwater management systems, watershed studies, and environmental compliance projects.
  • Develop technical reports and perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using tools such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, or similar software.

Description

Join our team as an Stormwater Professional (EIT) II within our Stormwater practice area. This is a hybrid role based out of our Charlotte, North Carolina office.


In this role, you will assist in the planning, design, and analysis of stormwater management systems, watershed studies, and environmental compliance projects. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers to develop technical reports, perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and contribute to sustainable water resource solutions.


This position is ideal for an early-career professional eager to gain hands-on experience in stormwater management, flood mitigation, and drainage design. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in water resources engineering. Familiarity with modeling software such as HEC-RAS, SWMM, or similar tools is preferred.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1+ years of related professional experience.
  • Successful completion of the FE Exam or ability to complete within one year of employment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exposure to or experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Geopak, or related design software.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, engaged, and able to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of planning and design principles and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated initiative, personal investment in career growth, and willingness to learn software applications.
  • Energetic, flexible, confident, and forward-thinking.

Preferred:

  • EI/EIT certification or ability to obtain within one year.
  • Prior experience in field of expertise.
  • Familiarity with graphic or visualization software.
