Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience with CI/CD, GitOps, pipelines, configuration management and workflow automation tools
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible and build automation tools like Jenkins, Maven, Rundeck
  • Expertise with at least one major cloud provider and understanding of AWS, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), and cloud-native architecture; Linux shell scripting (Python/Bash) and relational DB experience

Requirements:

  • Collaborate with software development teams to ensure software is operationally sound, run diagnostic tests, and monitor/configure during testing to minimize impact when releasing to production
  • Automate and refine build and delivery processes (CI/CD) and reduce manual tasks across development, release, and operations
  • Research and implement reliable, scalable, high-performing solutions; develop and monitor services, code quality, and artifacts with observability and metrics to expose bottlenecks
  • Identify security, reliability, or performance threats and coordinate with stakeholders to align goals and drive DevOps/SRE practices (infrastructure-as-code, cloud-native, Terraform, AWS)

We are seeking an experienced Operational Engineer II to join our team. 

We are looking for an Operational Engineer II who will:

Operational Engineer is responsible for partnering closely with the Software Development teams to ensure software output is operationally sound before releasing the software into a production environment. Operational Engineers prepare software for installation by running diagnostic tests and monitoring/configuring the software as needed during the testing cycle to ensure minimal impact as software is released into the production environment. This role ensures that all systems and equipment are running efficiently, effectively, and safely to support the organization's objectives.
  • You will report to the Director of Software Development to contribute towards the build and deployment process for multiple application platforms/languages in our FSM team
  • Automate and refinement of build and delivery processes and eliminate manual tasks
  • Research and implement technology solutions for reliable, scalable, high-performing applications and services
  • Develop and help monitor services, code quality and artifacts
  • Identify threats to security, reliability or performance and eliminate these risks
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to align the team's goals with the organizations
  • Improve automation at all stages of software development, release, operations, and maintenance, incorporating observability and metrics analysis to expose performance bottlenecks

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in English in a business environment
  • 3+ years of experience with CI/CD, GitOps, Pipelines, configuration management and workflow automation tools
  • Experience with configuration management tools like CHEF, Puppet, Ansible and Build automation tooling Jenkins, Maven, Rundeck
  • Experience in Linux, shell scripting/Python/Bash and Oracle DB or any other relational DB
  • Expertise with at least one major cloud infrastructure provider and an In-Depth understanding of concepts such as AWS, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, infrastructure-as-code(Terraform), and cloud-native architecture
  • Experience with Kubernetes is a plus
  • Willing to participate in rotating 12/7 on-call coverage support
