Your Purpose 

We are looking for an experienced technical lead to join the Crypto Revolution. In this crucial role, you will manage engineers and other leads, helping them grow while we build scalable, secure, and high-quality products with our users as the center.
You will work closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to define the strategy, set priorities, and align on roadmaps. Your ultimate goal will be to deliver excellent products to our customers, prioritizing security, compliance, user experience, and reliability in a high-volume trading environment.
This role requires deep technical and architectural understanding, with a solid previous background as a developer. While day-to-day coding is not expected, you will need to provide hands-on technical guidance and support your teams in complex situations.

Who You Are 

Failure to meet any of the following required qualifications could result in an automatic rejection.

  • Passionate about the crypto ecosystem.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software development, and 2 or more years as a manager.
  • Deep understanding of the Java ecosystem and frameworks.
  • Database Management: Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Proven ability to scale engineering teams,optimize delivery processes, and handle high-throughput, mission-critical systems. .
  • Deep technical expertise in software engineering, architecture, and team building.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions,  geographies, and remote/distributed teams.
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog).
  • Experience working with Git and automated CI/CD tools.
  • Strong ability to coordinate sizable multidisciplinary product engineering squads.
  • Knows how to motivate teams through practical challenges and foster psychological safety.
  • Experience building and launching large-scale user-facing products to market.
  • Comfortable with modern delivery practices, including DevOps principles.

 

Nice to have

The following qualifications are not mandatory but would be valuable:

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Experience with AWS services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Familiarity with tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Spinnaker.
  • Practical knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, specifically using ArgoCD.
  • Experience using Datadog or Splunk.

  • Contribute to hiring and retaining top engineering talent globally, helping to shape the future of Bitso’s technical organization.
  • Challenge the status quo to maximize customer value, delivering innovative and high-quality software solutions.Balance feature delivery with technical debt reduction, providing clear visibility and trade-off discussions to stakeholders.
  • Influence cross-functional partners and contribute to the overall technical strategy and roadmap for the Engineering organization.
