How you will impact the organization…

The Senior Project Manager II serves as a strategic delivery leader for the Product and Technology organization. This role is designed to lead the organization's most complex, high-risk, and business-critical initiatives. Beyond traditional project coordination, this individual acts as a trusted partner to business and technology leaders, leveraging deep domain expertise to support strategic product and engineering decisions. The Senior TPM II models exemplary leadership, influencing project management standards across the team and creating a culture of resilience and accountability. They are responsible for translating ambiguous requirements into executable plans and maintaining momentum through unforeseen challenges to maximize business value.

  • Strategic Program Leadership: Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of the organization’s most complex and high-impact initiatives. Consistently seek out and manage high-risk projects, ensuring they deliver maximum business value.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Rapidly decompose ambiguous problems into executable workstreams. Proactively identify potential problems and solve or escalate them effectively without overreacting, ensuring cross-team dependencies are managed from discovery through production.
  • Operational Excellence (Job Knowledge): Proactively research, vet, and introduce new industry best practices and innovative tools to the team. utilize expertise in project execution to elevate the entire team's capabilities and drive operational improvements.
  • Productivity & Momentum: Demonstrate an exceptional ability to maintain momentum through ambiguity. Act as the team's productivity standard by unblocking critical paths, removing impediments, and driving work to production with urgency.
  • Domain Expertise: Apply deep domain expertise to master new, complex areas quickly. Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design to balance scope, quality, and speed while preserving product intent.
  • Communication: Communicate complex topics to larger, less familiar audiences with confidence. Ensure delivery commitments are visible and credible, and write comprehensive documentation to support execution.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Lead by example regarding work ethic, attitude, and professionalism. Influence peers positively, mentor informally, and contribute to a positive team environment while taking ownership and demonstrating accountability
  • Lead "Post-Mortem" or Root Cause Analysis (RCA) meetings following critical incidents to prevent recurrence.
    Assist in the recruitment and interviewing process for new Program Management talent.
    Represent the Technology organization in executive-level status reviews and strategic planning sessions.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested. Consensus reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

 

What you will bring to the table…

  • 7+ years of experience in Technical Program Management or Technical Project Management.
  • 7+ years of experience working directly with software engineering teams in a SaaS environment.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with Jira. 
  • Proven track record leading medium-to-large, cross-functional software initiatives across multiple teams.
  • Experience owning program strategy and end-to-end delivery for platform or infrastructure initiatives.
  • Technical Fluency: Demonstrated ability to engage in architectural and implementation discussions with engineering leads.
  • Project Leadership: Models exemplary resilience; influences standards across the team.
  • Domain Expertise: Masters complex domains quickly; trusted strategic partner.
  • Communication: Articulates complex data to diverse audiences; strong documentation skills.
  • Initiative: Anticipates future risks; proactively solves issues before impact.
  • Productivity: Maintains high output during ambiguity; unblocks critical paths.
  • Leadership: Influences without authority; mentors and builds positive culture.



You will stand out if you also have…

  • Background in scaled or complex software development organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven ability to lead without authority and influence outcomes through preparation, credibility, and execution.
  • Experience driving operational improvements and delivery metrics at scale.
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of HITRUST and/or FedRAMP High.

 

 

Additional details… 

  • Location requirements: Fully remote within the U.S. (Los Angeles or Las Vegas preferred.)
  • Travel requirements: Up to 10% travel. 
  • Physical requirements: Must be able to sit for long periods, as well as, handle long periods of screen time.
  • Technology requirements: Reliable, high speed internet.
  • Eligible for sponsorship: No 

 



The salary range for this role is $155,000 - $175,000 USD annually.  The total compensation package for this position is negotiable and may also include annual performance bonus, ESPP, enhanced time off packages and benefits. This job doesn't have an expiration date and will remain open until a qualified candidate is hired.
