Role Summary
This role will be a point person to assist in the procurement of materials, services and equipment following established purchasing procedures to process all purchase orders. The Buyer will compile requests for materials, prepare purchase orders, keep track of purchases and supplies, and handle inquiries about orders making sure that what was purchased arrives on schedule and meets our requirements.

What You’ll Be Doing
Ensures purchasing documentation files are properly organized.
Negotiates contracts and or discounts with manufacturers/suppliers for inventory and non-inventory items and then submits recommendations to the Purchasing Manager.
Obtains qualifications for new vendors and the proper setup in the Approved Supplier List (ASL) controlled by Quality.
Provides timely accurate, detailed lead time and cost info to support Sales RFP/RFQ/RFI for external customers/proposals.
Establishes good relations with all vendors
Ensures capital expenditure policies and coding are appropriately followed.
Works with Accounting on all invoices and receiving discrepancies
Expectations
Overseeing the preparation of company’s purchase orders.
Assisting in resolving shipment and inventory receipt discrepancies or problems.
Assisting with reviewing and coding of inventory and non-inventory items.
Maximizing the use of the Oracle system and uses the system to optimize work performance.
Other related tasks as assigned.
Proactively anticipates and troubleshoots problems and implements solutions or recommends solutions to appropriate resources for problem resolution.
Ensures that suppliers meet or exceed contractual commitments and that correct and optimal prices are paid for materials
What We’re Looking For
2-5 years’ experience in purchasing is required.
An AA degree in business or related field preferred.
CPSM/ C.P.M. / APICS certification is a plus.
Wide knowledge of inventory tracking & control (Physical inventories, Fixed assets, Min-Max, etc.)
Extensive accounting and financial understanding (Cost of Sales, Fixed assets, Invoicing, Purchasing)
Knowledge of Oracle ERP EBS, ERP/MRP, MS Excel, MS Word required
Demonstrated cost savings/cost reduction history and understands LEAN inventory management strategies.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills essential for interaction with both internal and external customers.
Knowledge of AS9100D Quality Management Systems preferred.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Motivated, goal oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator.
Excellent customer service skills.
