Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and execution-driven Data Steward (Customer Data Domain – CRM Launch) to support the rollout of HubSpot CRM and establish a strong, reliable Customer Data Domain. This role will focus on maintaining, correcting, enriching, and linking customer records across HubSpot and adjacent data stores such as SQL and Snowflake.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in CRM data operations, customer master data management, and data quality control. This role requires high accuracy, comfort working within defined governance frameworks, and the ability to operate effectively during a system launch period with evolving standards.

This is a remote role aligned with US business hours. Engagement may be part-time or full-time depending on volume.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Master Data Maintenance & Identity Linking

Create, update, and retire customer records in HubSpot and related data tables following defined standards.

Execute non-destructive merges and link customer records while preserving ERP source records.

Maintain and update customer hierarchies (parent, billing account, site relationships).

Maintain and improve firmographic attributes used for sales and reporting.

Flag edge cases and recommend standards for review and approval.


Data Enrichment & Verification

Enrich customer records using approved third-party sources (e.g., Google, Clay, D&B, Experian).

Validate data using documented verification processes and capture source notes when required.

Standardize address and location data and flag records requiring additional review.

Data Loading & Operational Execution

Perform manual updates for urgent corrections or low-volume requests.

Execute bulk updates using CSV imports, templates, API-assisted loads, and authorized SQL updates.

Conduct large-scale enrichment and correction waves when required.

Coordinate with RevOps, Sales Ops, IT, and Finance on data loads, deduplication, and standardization initiatives.

Perform updates in ERP systems as authorized, recognizing system dependencies and limitations.

Governance, Quality Control & Auditability

Follow defined approval thresholds for record changes.

Maintain audit logs for significant updates (what changed, why, source, date, requestor).

Monitor and report data quality metrics, backlog status, and SLA performance.

Identify recurring data issues and recommend corrective actions.

Stakeholder Support

Serve as the primary executor for customer data requests from Sales, Customer Service, and RevOps.

Translate requests into clean, standardized updates while protecting data integrity.

Escalate policy exceptions or conflicting data sources promptly.


Qualifications:

Proven experience in CRM data operations, customer master data stewardship, or data quality roles.

Strong understanding of B2B customer structures, including parent-child and site hierarchies.

Hands-on experience with HubSpot CRM (required).

Experience working with SQL tables and/or Snowflake (basic SQL literacy preferred).

Experience performing both manual updates and bulk data loads (CSV templates, mapping, validation).

Familiarity with third-party enrichment tools (Google, Clay, D&B, Experian, or similar).

Experience operating within structured governance frameworks and audit-controlled environments.

High attention to detail and comfort performing repetitive, accuracy-critical work.

Clear communication of status, blockers, and exceptions.

Ability to manage ambiguity during CRM and data model implementation phases.
